Summer Music Moves
Following close on the heels of Baltimore Jazz Fest at St. John’s in the Village, Baltimore Jazz Alliance is excited to be partnering with Dance Baltimore to present Summer Music Moves: A Jazz and Dance Festival. From Thursday, July 25 through Sunday, July 28, the festival will present jazz and dance performances in multiple venues in and around Baltimore’s Mt. Vernon neighborhood, highlighting some of the areas best music and dance performers, and celebrating the [supporting each other] nature of jazz and dance.
The festival will kick off with a free event at Baltimore Center Stage, featuring music and dance performances by some of Baltimore’s most talented youth, followed by a jam session and reception with cash bar. This event is open to the public at no charge.
Friday night, a ticketed event at Center Stage features some of the best jazz and dance in the area, with performances by a special all-star group including Warren Wolf, Carl Filipiak, Robert Shahid, Blake Meister, Clarence Ward III, Alan Blackman, and more, plus Full Circle Dance Company, Ryan K. Johnson, and the Dance Baltimore Repertory Ensemble. World renowned pianist Cyrus Chestnut and award winning contemporary jazz vocalist Maysa will perform as well, both together, and individually with their own groups.
