THREE NEW JAZZ VENUES FOR BALTIMORE

In last month’s issue of the BJA newsletter, Ken Avis asked if Baltimore can become a “Music City” like Austin, Nashville, New Orleans, and Berlin. He lamented the lack of coordination among arts-related organizations and the lack of a jazz festival in Baltimore (in contrast to neighboring Washington DC, Philadelphia, and Cape May), and pointed with distress about the fact that Baltimore’s premier annual arts event, Artscape, no longer gives prominence to jazz. | Read more>> Read More

BJA Spreads the Word (JAZZ) at Artscape

For the twelfth year in a row BJA spread the word about Baltimore jazz at an Artscape booth. Despite temperatures that rose into the mid-90s, twenty-five BJA volunteers gave it their all.
