SUMMARY:Hazel Mitchell-Bell Unveils Sack Full of Dreams
DESCRIPTION:“Running the jazz/soul/blues gamut on a well broken in set of tunes from across the ages while making them all her own\, this is top shelf jazz vocal\, with a top shelf crew in tow. Solid.”\n – Chris Spector\, Midwest Record \nElegant and engaging jazz vocalist Hazel Mitchell-Bell has just released Sack Full of Dreams\, her second signficant project with pianist and music director Vince Evans. Working with an “A Team” of Washington\, D.C. musicians and singers\, the dynamic duo released the much praised\, high charting album\, Stronger than Ever in 2018. After enjoying numerous sellout performances\, they made good use of 2020 shutdowns by creating a new and spirited recording. As fans eagerly await her return\, Mitchell-Bell is ready to enthrall audiences once again in live performances. \nInfluenced by Nancy Wilson\, Ella Fitzgerald\, Dinah Washington\, Sarah Vaughan and Phyllis Hyman\, Mitchell-Bell has regaled audiences in prestigious venues such as The Kennedy Center\, Alice’s Jazz and Cultural Society\, the Preservation Jazz Festival\, Twins Jazz\, City Winery and the Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis. \nIn additon to pianist Vince Evans\, her band for Cafe Mezanotte includes drummer JC Jefferson\, Jr.\, bassist Herman Burney and trumpeter Kenny Rittenhouse. While focusing on the exciting new sounds heard on Sack Full of Dreams\, the program will also include jazz standards and blues from her previous album. \n::concert\, Cafe Mezzanotte::
