The ensemble has consistently achieved superior ratings in the MCPS Jazz Adjudications over the last ten years. Over the years, many of the Rockville High School Jazz Ensemble’s students have gone on to major in music in college, a testament to their high caliber of musicianship. The ensemble’s reputation for excellence has also earned them invitations to play at festivals around Maryland and the surrounding states.

Most recently, the Rockville High School Jazz Ensemble had the opportunity to participate in a jazz masterclass with acclaimed pianist and composer Emmet Cohen. This experience provided the students with a unique opportunity to learn from a master musician and gain insights into the world of jazz. Even with their success, the members of the Rockville High School Jazz Ensemble remain humble and committed to their craft. They continue to practice and rehearse diligently, always striving to improve their skills and push the boundaries of their music.
