An Evening with JD Walter and Orrin Evans – Jazzway 6004

JD Walter – vocals, Orrin Evans – piano, Kris Funn – bass,
Byron Landham – drums. It is a Monday night, BUT consider this very special evening at Jazzway. It’s a rare opportunity for us to present two of the most innovative musicians performing jazz today. There will be no other concerts in the area – they are performing only in Philadelphia, Baltimore and then Richmond, VA.
JD Walter is a jazz singer’s singer - a purist and innovator. His style has been compared to many vocal titans, but it is uniquely his own and he has become a singular phenomenon on the music scene (and is reported to be Kurt Elling’s favorite singer!) Orrin Evans has been recognized as one of the most distinctive and inventive pianists of his generation. He is a two-time Grammy nominee, Pew Fellow and soon to be pianist with the wildly popular group, BadPlus. Evans has earned the titles of pianist, composer, bandleader, teacher, producer and arranger, and The New York Times describes him as "...a poised artist with an impressive template of ideas at his command. “ The incomparable Kris Funn will be on bass and on drums from NYC is Byron Landham. No dessert tonight but tickets are less expensive and there will be free snacks and soft drinks plus adult beverages available for a small fee.Tickets: $17/General and BJA Members, $15/Students (full time with valid ID) - Ticket Link:
