Vibraphonist/vocalist Roy Ayers is among the best-known, most loved and respected jazz/R&B artists on the music scene today.

Now in his fourth decade in the music business, Ayers, known as the Godfather of Neo-soul, continues to bridge the gap between generations of music lovers. In the 60’s he was an award-winning jazz vibraphonist, and transformed into a popular R&B band leader in the 70's/80's. Today, the dynamic music man is an iconic figure still in great demand and whose music industry heavyweights, including Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu, 50 Cent, A Tribe Called Quest, Tupac and Ice Cube.

Using his personal collection of vinyl, Sean will share his favorite recordings representative of different styles and cultural origins of jazz music. During this informal listening tour, Sean will guide you through several pieces of music during which he’ll help you listen for and understand the melody, harmony, and nuances that make jazz so unique.

With her professionalism, work ethic and love for her craft as a music consultant, Karen Linette remains a sought-after talent in the Washington, DC area. Giving her fellow local musicians more than twenty years of experience as a singer and collaborative artist, she has also shared the stage with national recording artists such as Norman Connors, Dawn Robinson of En Vogue, CeCe Peniston, Club Nouveau, Case, Miles Jaye, Anthony David, Miki Howard,Regina Belle, Tom Browne, Dexter Wansel, and a host of others.

Craig Alston Syndicate
Craig Alston, native of Baltimore and based multi-instrumentalist and composer specializing in woodwind, brasswind, keyboard and bass guitar in genres such as jazz, rhythm and blues, soul, hip hop and gospel. He is best known for his complex yet soulful sound on the saxophone. Craig has performed with notable musicians such as Lee Ritenour, Earl Klugh, Jonathan Butler, Najee,Norman Brown, Brian Culbertson, Frank McComb, Dennis Chambers, Eric Robeson and Larry Willis; legendary groups such as the O'Jays, The Temptations and The Four Tops; as well as Soulful Symphony and the Cab Calloway Orchestra. He was the saxophonist for Fertile Ground and lead the Eubie Blake Legacy Band for over 7 years. Craig received the 2013 Jazz Journalists Jazz Heroes Award and was the winner of the 2011 Chick Webb Jazz Combo Competition. He is currently a Musical Director for multiple independent artists, a clinician and the woodwind teacher for OrchKids. Performed with national recording artists Norman Connors, Dawn Robinson of En Vogue, CeCe Peniston, Club Nouveau, Case, Miles Jaye, Anthony David, Miki Howard, Regina Belle, Tom Browne, Dexter Wansel and a host of others.
