Ingrid Jensen, trumpet and flugelhorn
Canadian-born INGRID JENSEN has been hailed as one of the most gifted trumpeters of her generation. Jensen “plays trumpet and flugelhorn with all the brilliance and fire of a true virtuoso, following the spirit of the muse as she creates” (Marian McPartland). She has performed with a multi-generational cast of jazz legends ranging from Clark Terry to Esperanza Spalding. Her own bands have garnered glowing reviews and a loyal worldwide fan base. Jensen is also a dedicated jazz educator, having taught trumpet at the University of Michigan and the Peabody Conservatory. Most recently, she was named an was an Artist-in-Residence at the 2018 Monterey Jazz Festival.
